Learn English and Spanish with ReDefiners World Languages!

Want to learn another language, but not ready to make a commitment? Then check out our 8-week long English and Spanish exposure courses!

There’s no doubt that the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on our lives. Even though the pandemic has improved and 5-11 year olds will be eligible for the vaccine soon, many adults are still out of work and looking, and many kids have fallen behind in school.

A lot of things about the pandemic have been difficult, discouraging, and unfair. It challenged us and taxed us in ways we never thought possible. For some of us, it meant being out of work for months. For others, it meant having to adjust overnight to remote work and school. While it was necessary for our health and safety, it did come with a lot of hardships.

With all of the pandemic hardships, it can feel impossible to find a way out and return to pre-pandemic normalcy. It’s easy to get stuck and feel like your situation will never improve.

When you feel stuck, the best thing you can do is to do something different. Even taking a small action can help. For example, if you’re searching for a job, one of the best things you can do is to expand your skills. And there’s one skill that can be beneficial, regardless of your field: bilingualism. That’s right, learning a second language can have a multitude of benefits for both children and adults. Language learning gives everyone a competitive advantage, and it can level the playing field, giving everyone a chance for success.

If you’re feeling stuck, it can be hard to take that first step, especially if you’ve already tried a lot of different things. Fortunately, ReDefiners World Languages, in partnership with the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers and managed by Lutheran Services Florida, has two free, short language exposure courses available. One is an English course for adults, and one is a Spanish course for families. Each of our in-person exposure courses lasts 8 weeks, and they provide introductions of each language. The English class is available to adults 18 and over, and there are classes available on Fridays and Saturdays. The Spanish class is available for parents with children in grades K-5, and the classes take place on Saturday afternoons. For more information about these classes, click here for English and here for Spanish. Spots are filling up quickly, so don’t delay!

After dealing with obstacle after obstacle, it can be hard to see how things can improve. Please know that you are not alone in your struggles, and we’re here to help you

Doing something small like taking one of our classes can help you and your children get back on track, and it could be the catalyst for change. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
