At ReDefiners, we offer tons of volunteer opportunities:
Academic Tutor (Ages 55+ Stipend Opportunity)
Thanks to our partnership with AmeriCorps, a federal agency that connects individuals and organizations through volunteering to tackle the nation’s most pressing challenges, we are now able to support 66 new volunteer positions for seniors age 55+ living in the Tampa Bay area.
In this role, volunteers will work one-on-one with students based on their individual academic needs. It’s an excellent way for seniors in the community to connect with younger generations and share their knowledge.
Social Media Manager
Social Media Manager volunteers create engaging digital media content and post it to ReDefiners’ platforms. If you are creative, goal-oriented, proactive, and looking to make a major impact through a small organization while gaining valuable hands-on experience, you could be part of the ReDefiners’ Marketing Team.

Mandarin and Arabic Translator
We are looking for native-speaking Mandarin or Arabic translators to interpret written pieces from English to the target language, and vice-versa. This position requires knowledge of marketing and communication skills, which are important in ensuring that the pieces maintain their original meaning, format, and tone.
Translator responsibilities include reading and thoroughly understanding the context of given material, using specialized dictionaries and translation tools, and proofreading finished pieces of work.
Ultimately, you will provide ready-to-use translated content that helps us reach a broader audience.
Outreach Assistant
The Outreach Assistant volunteer role is key in helping grow ReDefiners’ voice in the Tampa community. You will be responsible for developing brand awareness and community outreach by representing ReDefiners at local networking meetings, participating in fundraising efforts, and helping to create marketing campaigns.
If you are a social extrovert that loves engaging with people, this position could be the perfect fit for you!
Blog Writer
Every volunteer opportunity on this list is an amazing experience that offers real potential to change lives. But in my opinion, the blog writer position is a little more impactful than the rest. As the editor of the blog, I might be biased.
Regardless of my personal opinions, the blog writer position is great for anyone who loves writing about language and culture. You’ll work directly with the editor (me) to brainstorm awesome ideas and write engaging articles about cultures from around the world.
